Empowering Maker Educators and Growing Leadership Capacity across california and beyond

Maker education is a powerful means to motivate and engage K-16 students in the rigorous problem-solving and critical thinking of a standards-based education, and it also serves as an innovative model for a 21st century learning environment that prepares students for college/career choices.

The CSU Maker Educator Leadership Summit is a unique opportunity to convene CSU leaders and colleagues interested in maker education. The Summit will act as a working group to discuss and share key strategies, case studies, and resources for CSU's pre-service and in-service educators.

The format will include keynotes from nationally recognized maker leaders and scholars, round table discussions, quick-talks, networking opportunities, and, of course, hands-on making activities. Topics of discussion will include, but are not limited to:

1.     implementing maker education in K-16 learning environments

2.    supporting innovation and best practices in making and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics)

3.    rethinking learning spaces
